Indulge in breakfast at the hotel, then commence the morning with a city tour of Jordan's capital, mentioned in the Bible as Rabbath Ammon. The city, built on a series of jabals (or hills), unfolds spectacular vistas at every turn. Dominating the skyline on Jabal Qala'a is the Citadel, a site that has witnessed the rise and fall of civilizations inhabiting Amman for the past 7,000 years. Noteworthy features include the Temple of Hercules, the Umayyad Palace, and the remnants of a small Byzantine Church. At the hill's base lies the 6,000-seat Roman Theatre, constructed in 161 CE, surprisingly still utilized for cultural events today.
After a short drive through the countryside, explore the remarkable Roman ruins of Jerash, impeccably preserved to the point where you can almost envision the lively exchanges of merchants and the creaking of chariot wheels along the cobblestoned streets. This ancient wonder showcases breathtaking arches, temples, and baths in an astonishing state of preservation and completeness. Return to Amman for dinner and an overnight.
Start your day with breakfast at the hotel, then embark on a visit to Madaba. Explore the Church of St. George, where you'll discover the oldest preserved ancient mosaic map of the Holy Land, dating back to the 6th century BC. Proceed to Mt. Nebo to trace the steps of Moses, soaking in the spectacular view of the Promised Land, just as he did over 2,000 years ago. The site exudes a unique sense of significance, and on a clear day, you can witness Jerusalem, Jericho, and the Dead Sea. A memorial in Moses' honor is situated at the entrance to the early Byzantine Christian church, believed to be the place of his death.
Continue your journey to the Dead Sea, the world's largest natural spa and one of the most extraordinary spots globally. The water and mud of the Dead Sea have been acknowledged for their healing properties since Biblical times. Conclude the day with a magical experience, floating in the sea while admiring the stunning crimson and orange sunset. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the Dead Sea hotel.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and embark on a day of exploration in the Rose Red city of Petra. This Nabataean city, built over 2,000 years ago, is concealed within a vast rocky mountain, accessible through a high and narrow gorge. Adorned with monumental facades and spectacular buildings sculpted out of solid rock, Petra has earned recognition as "one of the most precious cultural properties of man's cultural heritage" by UNESCO and stands among the New 7 Wonders of the World.
Entrance fees will be arranged, and a private English-speaking site guide will be provided for 2.5 to 3 hours to explore the main attractions of the lower part of the city. Starting from the main gate, you and the guide will traverse the Siq to visit iconic landmarks such as the Treasury, Street of Facades, the Theatre, Nympheom, and Qaser El-Bent. At the end of the day, continue to Little Petra for dinner and camping.
