39th Jerash Festival Concludes with Over 235 Events and Global Participation

The 39th edition of the Jerash Festival of Culture and Arts concluded on August 2, 2025, after running from July 23 under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II. This year’s theme, “Here is Jordan… and Its Glory Continues”, highlighted a vibrant celebration of culture and heritage.


A Cultural Feast Across Jordan

The festival featured more than 235 artistic and cultural activities, including concerts, theatrical performances, poetry evenings, visual arts exhibitions, and family-friendly programs. Musical performances by 140 poets and a rich literary program enriched the experience.


Global Participation from 36–37 Nations

This edition had exceptional international representation:

  • 36–37 Arab and international countries participated, marking one of the most diverse editions in recent years.
  • Folkloric groups from over 20 countries—including Romania, Korea, India, China, Spain, Azerbaijan, Sudan, Georgia, and Algeria—performed during the festival, bringing unique traditions to Jerash.

Iconic Performances and Venues

Events took place across Jerash’s historic Roman landmarks, such as the Southern and Northern Theatres, Main Square, Sound and Light Theatre, Artemis Theatre, and Column Street. Additional activities were held in Amman, Irbid, Zarqa, Madaba, and Aqaba.

Arab and international stars, including Nassif Zeytoun, Ahlam, Mayada El Hennawy, Noor Mhanna, Joseph Attieh, Melhem Zein, Khaled Abdulrahman, Mohamed Hamaki, and Assala Nasri, performed alongside renowned Jordanian artists.


What Made This Year’s Festival Exceptional?

  • Diversity and Reach: Participants from 36–37 countries and multiple global troupes expanded the festival’s international reach.
  • Geographic Expansion: Events took place across eight governorates, broadening audience access nationwide.
  • Youth Empowerment: Around 150 young men and women were trained and involved in festival organization, gaining hands-on experience in cultural event management.
