39th Jerash Festival Concludes with Over 235 Events and Global Participation from 36–37 Countries
The 39th edition of the Jerash Festival of Culture and Arts concluded on August 2, 2025, after running from July 23 to August 2 under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II. This year’s theme, “Here is Jordan… and Its Glory Continues”, set the tone for a vibrant celebration of culture and heritage.
The festival presented more than 235 artistic and cultural activities, including concerts, theatrical performances, poetry evenings, visual arts exhibitions, and family-friendly programs. Among them were musical performances by 140 poets and a rich intellectual and literary program.
This edition stood out for its exceptional international representation:
36 Arab and international countries took part, marking one of the festival’s most diverse editions in recent years.
Other reports recorded involvement from 37 Arab and foreign nations, highlighting the event’s broad global appeal.
Folkloric groups from over 20 countries—including Romania, Korea, India, China, Spain, Azerbaijan, Sudan, Georgia, and Algeria—performed during the festival, bringing unique colors and traditions to Jerash.
Events unfolded across the city’s historic Roman landmarks, such as the Southern and Northern Theatres, Main Square, Sound and Light Theatre, Artemis Theatre, and Column Street. Additional activities were held in other governorates, including Amman, Irbid, Zarqa, Madaba, and Aqaba.
Arab and international stars including Nassif Zeytoun, Ahlam, Mayada El Hennawy, Noor Mhanna, Joseph Attieh, Melhem Zein, Khaled Abdulrahman, Mohamed Hamaki, and Assala Nasri graced the stages, alongside renowned Jordanian artists.
Diversity and Reach – With participants from 36–37 countries and a wealth of global troupes, the festival’s reach expanded significantly.
Geographic Expansion – For the first time, events took place across eight governorates, broadening access for audiences nationwide.
Youth Empowerment – Around 150 young men and women were trained and involved in festival organization, giving local youth hands-on experience in cultural event management.
The 39th Jerash Festival once again proved its role as a bridge between cultures, merging Jordanian heritage with global artistry under the timeless arches of Jerash. With its scale, diversity, and commitment to cultural dialogue, the 2025 edition will be remembered as one of the most dynamic in the festival’s history.
